Stripe periodically asks for more documentation, even after you've completed the initial setup. This can happen at signup, after your first sales, or anytime down the line. Common requests:
- A photo of your government-issued ID
- A selfie or video for identity verification
- Proof of address (a utility bill or bank statement)
- A business registration document, if you set up as a business
- A tax ID number you didn't provide initially
This is normal and not specific to Subvert. Stripe is regulated under Know Your Customer (KYC) and anti-money-laundering rules and has to verify the identities of everyone receiving payouts. Larger payout volumes, certain countries, and certain business structures all trigger additional checks.
What to do:
- Sign in to your Stripe dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com
- Look for a banner or notification at the top of the dashboard with the requested action
- Submit the requested documents directly through Stripe — do not send them to Subvert
Until you complete the request, your payouts may be paused. Once Stripe approves the new information, payouts resume automatically.
If Stripe is asking for something that doesn't apply to your situation — or you've submitted documents and they keep getting rejected — email us at info@subvert.fm and we'll see what we can do, though final approval is Stripe's call.
