Subvert charges a platform fee of 0%. Artists and labels keep 100% of their sale proceeds after payment processing fees charged by Stripe.
This is not a promotional rate or a temporary offer. The 0% platform fee is a founding principle of Subvert as a cooperative. Any change to it would require approval from the co-op board and would be communicated to members well in advance.
What does come out of your earnings:
- Stripe processing fees - Stripe charges a fee on each transaction. This is deducted by Stripe before proceeds reach your account.
- The Rights Reserve - a 10% withholding on each sale to cover mechanical royalty obligations. See What is the Rights Reserve? for details.
So for a $10 sale, Stripe's processing fee comes out first, then 10% of the gross sale price is held as the Rights Reserve. The remainder is credited to your account balance.
