WHAT IS SUBVERT?
Subvert is a music marketplace owned and run by its members. There's no platform fee, and members are co-owners with a vote in how it works.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ACCEPT?
Two things. You get access to manage the page you were invited to, at the role the person chose for you. And you join the Subvert co-op as a member, which makes you a co-owner with a vote. If you already have a Subvert account, you just get the page access, nothing else changes.
AM I JOINING, OR IS MY LABEL?
You, as an individual. Co-op membership is per person, rather than per company. You're the person who manages this artist on the label's behalf. Your label isn't becoming a member.
WHAT WILL I BE ABLE TO DO FOR THIS ARTIST?
With Admin access, the default for labels, you can manage the artist's
page, upload and edit releases, and manage payouts, including where the
money goes. Revenue follows the page's connected Stripe account.
WHAT DOES "I REPRESENT THIS LABEL AND AM AUTHORIZED TO MANAGE THIS ARTIST" MEAN?
It confirms you actually work with this label and have the go-ahead to manage this artist's page. False attestations can cost you your membership.
WHAT'S COMING FOR LABELS?
Label tools are rolling out in stages. See https://www.subvert.fm/pages/labels-on-subvert for where things are now and what's next.
DOES IT COST ANYTHING?
No. There's no fee to join.
WHAT AM I AGREEING TO?
You're agreeing to the co-op's bylaws and member agreement, and becoming a co-owner with a vote in how Subvert is run. The full documents are linked in the acceptance form before you confirm.

CAN I LEAVE LATER?
Yes. Membership is voluntary. You can resign anytime from your account
settings under Danger Zone. Leaving gives up your ownership stake and vote.
IF I'M ALREADY A CO-OP MEMBER, DOES ACCEPTING CHANGE ANYTHING?
No. If you're already a member, accepting just adds access to this page.
Your membership stays exactly as it is.
AM I PERSONALLY LIABLE FOR ANYTHING BY JOINING?
Subvert is a limited cooperative association, which works like an LLC or a corporation when it comes to liability. Being a member doesn't make you personally responsible for the co-op's debts or legal obligations, and it doesn't put your personal assets behind the cooperative.
