If your content has been flagged or removed under the AI policy, or if your practice involves AI in ways that may be at the edge of our standard permissions, you can submit a petition for an exception.
Who can submit a petition Any artist whose work involves AI in ways they believe are consistent with Subvert's principles of human creative authorship - even if they fall outside the default permissions. Recognized categories where exceptions may be considered include:
- Artists who have built or trained AI models exclusively on their own original work
- Artists with disabilities who use AI tools as an accommodation enabling their creative expression
- Artists using algorithmic or procedural methods that don't involve deep-learning generative AI
What to include in your petition
- A detailed description of your creative process and the specific tools used
- An explanation of your role in originating and shaping the creative content
- A statement explaining why you believe your practice is consistent with Subvert's principles
- Any supporting materials (process documentation, demonstrations, technical descriptions)

Approved petitions may be anonymized and published as precedent cases to guide future applicants and provide transparency to the membership.
